We're looking for people to join us. We welcome people from all walks of life so that our listeners are well represented; whether you have experience in radio or not. Enthusiasm is what we look for first.
Radio Mount Vernon (R.M.V.) exists to provide an entertainment and information service for the benefit of the patients, staff and visitors of Mount Vernon Hospital - our listeners.
The most important activity all volunteers are involved in is visiting our listeners in the wards to find out what music they would like to hear. All our output is produced with our listeners in mind. Volunteers regularly visit the wards to meet our listeners.
You will receive tailored training, and indeed it's an ideal way to learn about radio presenting and programme production while doing something for the community at the same time. It's also a great way to meet new people, from the station and also our listeners.
Other activities include, vital fundraising initiatives, administration, technical (including sound engineering and production) and outside broadcasts.
As a member, you will have the opportunity to use and enhance your skills and gain new ones through being part of the team to produce the best possible service to our listeners.
Please note: that we do not offer work experience placements as all the members volunteer during their spare time. A minimum of 3 hours per week of volunteering is requested of each member although you are very welcome to put in more time!
If you would like to join us, and we hope you do, please contact us on the following email: (Please click the three dots to reveal the address.)
