I’m Steve Parker, and I’m the Station Engineer, responsible for keeping all the equipment working and also for making the station jingles—jingles are those short messages, often accompanied by snatches of music, that pop up between pieces of music when the presenter isn’t speaking.
Radio Mount Vernon still maintains a large library of vinyl records so there are two record players in the studio, two CD players, and computers for accessing the internet and playing jingles.
When not helping out at Radio Mount Vernon, I work in central London as an audio engineer for a company recording actors for computer games.
